Morning

START at the main port of Manaus. We will head downstream the Rio Negro to see the Meeting of the Waters (two rivers which do not mix).

 

VISIT Catalão, the “floating village” : typical Amazonian houses. The Caboclos, local families, will offer you some handmade souvenirs for purchase.

 

DISCOVER the Arapima or Pirarucu, Amazon’s largest freshwater scale-fish. This is also the most expensive fish in Manaus. This fish can reach up to 3m in length and weigh up to 200 kg!

Lunchtime

CONTINUE to the

Janauari Ecological Park. We will navigate into the park to see the monkeys, the giant water lilies and the Samauma Tree. This specie is the largest tree in the world. 

 

HAVE LUNCH in the park. You will find a big buffet offered by local cooks : typical fruits and vegetables, regional fresh water fishes, as well as local juices.

Afternoon

DRIVE FURTHER to reach our next big experience. we will drive around an hour by boat to meet the pink dolphins and even swim with them. 

 

OUR NEXT STOP will be by the native Dessana tribe.

They will greet us with a warm welcoming local dance and special instrumental songs. The family will show you their traditional customs and way of living. You will see some local animals, such as the famous Anaconda snake, the Caiman and Sloth.

ON THE WAY BACK to Manaus, we will pause to have a final swim.
